Phyllis Lucille Gates (December 7, 1925 – January 4, 2006) was an American secretary and interior decorator, known for her three-year marriage to the actor Rock Hudson. The story of their marriage was depicted in the TV film Rock Hudson (1990), starring Daphne Ashbrook as Gates and Thomas Ian Griffith as Hudson.

MOSCOW, Dec. 6. -- By drawing his game with Dr. Lasker of Germany in the twentieth and semi-final round of the international chessmasters' tournament, E. Bogoljubow, the Russian national champion, made sure of the first prize, having attained a total score of 15-4. The draw kept Dr. Lasker down to 13 1/2-5 1/2, so that it is impossible for the latter to overtake the Russian, even supposing he wins his game in the final round.
