The influenza epidemic that has proved costly to the motion picture studios by delaying pictures in production has caused Paramount to announce that no new projects will go before the cameras until the epidemic end.

It will be "Now You've Done It," the Mary Coyle Chase comedy formerly called "Me Third," that next represents Brock Pemberton on Broadway. It enters rehearsal today under Antoinette Perry's direction and will open "cold," an event that should take place in the customary three or four weeks.

After a rest of more than a week, the theatre tonight finds itself with an opening, that being "And Now Goodbye," or Philip Howard's derivative from the James Hilton novel. Philip Merivale has the part of the young English clergyman on whom the story is based, and others in the cast are Marguerite Churchill of the screen, Richie Ling, Hilda Plowright, Eda Heinemann and Edgar. Metro's film adaptation of Pearl S. Buck's "The Good Earth" will be ushered into the Astor Theatre tonight with all the fanfare of a Hollywood premiere. That means it will be a dress affair, that the festivities will be broadcast from the lobby of the theatre and that huge amber-colored lamps will flood the vicinity of Broadway and Fortyfifth Street. The film was directed,
